I'm currently almost 21 weeks pregnant and have decided to start a fitness journey blog. Before getting pregnant I had succeeded in losing 100 pounds. No diet. No gym. Just myself and sheer willpower. Working out for me and changing how I eat to fuel my body rather than eat for comfort or just because.
So far I have been able to keep my weight gain to just about 15 lbs. This is my third pregnancy. My first I gained 70 lbs. I hit a high of about 230. After giving birth I was able to get down to about 215. Not the best effort was put into getting back to a healthy weight, but being a young new mom, my focus was on my daughter. Then with my second I only gained about 25 but after hit my ALL TIME HIGH of 258. It was horrible. I knew I needed to change but decided not to.
One day after eating everything in my fridge and cupboards, hating myself, I decided enough was enough. No more. I was just going to suck it up and do it! It took me about five months, but I lost 100 lbs. I reached 158 and then I found I couldn't lose anymore... it was curious, but I knew that was a sign I was expecting.
I have managed to keep somewhat active so far but have picked up my pace now that I am finally feeling almost myself. My diet has not been the greatest (I have been known to sneak a few dozen pieces of chocolate or polish off two or threw pieces of pizza for dinner. But with a sudden dislike of gluten by my body (with my second I became semi - lactose intolerant) I have gone paleo and have been pushing myself to reach for whole foods instead of chips or ice cream.
This journey for me is working hard to become who I see myself as in my mind in real life. To have those beautifully sculpted muscles I covet and to regain the energy I need to become the best mommy I can be. Which is most important!!
I hope to post things that show others out there it is possible to do anything you set your mind to. Also to possibly be an inspiration to someone who does not think they can lose weight or who may be on the verge of quitting. Yay!
